The 2025 Sierra 2500 HD will offer two powertrain options:
- 6.6L L8T V8 Gas: 10-speed automatic Allison® transmission, producing up to 401 hp and 464 lb.-ft. of torque
- 6.6L L5P V8 Duramax Diesel: 10-speed automatic Allison® transmission, producing 470 hp and 975 lb.-ft. of torque
It isn't rated for fuel economy since it qualifies as a heavy-duty vehicle. The Sierra 2500 HD also continues 2WD and 4WD into 2025 models.
As a mid-cycle refresh, its long list of selectable drive modes should also remain the same, including:

Truck bed lengths range from 6.8-ft. to 8.2-ft. with a max cargo bed volume of 83.5 cu. ft., varying on cab configurations. Each truck bed features LED lighting in the cargo area, a built-in 120-volt outlet, and side steps integrated into the bed sides for seamless loading and unloading. Bed material options are rubber, aluminum, polypropylene carpet, or TPE, depending on the trim.
According to GMC, the 2025 Sierra 2500 HD offers more trailering-assistance technologies than any other competitor in its class.
