Comparing Configurations: GMC Hummer EV Truck vs. Ford F-150 Lightning
The 2022 GMC
Hummer EV Truck offers 5 trim levels, while the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning
offers 4 trim levels. Out of all the trim levels for the Hummer EV Truck, the
EV Edition 1 offers all the bells and whistles, making it the highest in demand
among GMC's customers. Reservations are already full, and the waiting list is
stacking up. For more features and standard equipment than the base trim level,
the Hummer EV2X offers a step above the base EV2 model
while highlighting extra features and specs such as more EV range and the
highly-anticipated CrabWalk feature. The Hummer EV2X would be our choice even
though the EV2 comes jam-packed with an array of standard features and
equipment.
As for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, the base PRO model is
off the table. This is more of a commercial fleet vehicle, not a consumer
model. You're not going to want anything lower than the XLT trim which is
really their entry-level trim. If we had to choose, we would go with the Lariat
or Platinum models as they would offer the best standard features and equipment
looking at the history of the F-150. The main concern with the XLT or Lariat
would be electric driving range and capability. Ford is already stating that
you need an upgraded battery pack to get more mileage, so it is hard to know
which trim, if any, would come standard with a more robust EV battery or
electric motor(s).

Interior Design & Features Comparison

The interior design of the 2022 GMC Hummer EV Truck is both
futuristic and topless in terms of its impressive electric specs. What sets it
apart from the 2022 Ford F-150 is its removable, transparent roof panels, so
you can enjoy the sunshine when off-road, stargazing while camping, but cover
up during rainfall. Its floor surface is mold-resistant and water-resistant,
which can be easily removed for cleaning. The interior of the Hummer EV Truck
will make you feel like you transported to the future with its industrial
design and modern features. There are two interior options, including the Lunar
Horizon and Lunar Shadow in addition to tech bronze accents and 85 percent of
the interior being black in color, creating a bold environment. This EV truck
has a seating capacity for 5 passengers.

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning's interior has been recognized
as the truck that will create a new era with top-of-the-line technology
features and a striking interior design. With a SYNC 4A housed in a 15.5-inch
touchscreen, it provides voice control, cloud-connected navigation, and
wireless access to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. It looks to
be the same infotainment system that was offered in the Mustang Mach-E. There
is also a 12-inch, fully customizable gauge cluster with animated graphics for
added entertainment. Optional fold-out interior work surfaces and fully
reclining seats are available for a luxurious feel. This truck is a Quad Cab
and offers seating for up to 5 passengers. Overall, it doesn't look much
different that a normal F-150 interior aside from the giant vertical
touchscreen display in the center dashboard. We don't feel the same excitement
and awe looking at the interior of the Ford Lightning as we do when we take a
gander at the interior of the 2022 Hummer EV truck.
