Interior Design & Features Comparison

The Hummer EV truck will fit 5 passengers comfortably with a
functional back seat that can be folded to increase rear cargo space. GMC's
Hummer EV delivers high definition by bringing the future to current day. The
interior includes a 12.3" diagonal color Driver Information Center display and
a center-mounted 13.4" diagonal color touchscreen position customizable data,
settings, and controls within the driver's convenient reach and optimal line of
sight. Due to the rear-flat folding seats, there is no shortage of storage in
the cargo area, and you get to enjoy an infinity roof, cargo tie downs, and a
110-volt power outlet. Its interior colors include the available Lunar Shadow
interior, featuring in jet black and taupe that casts a dark appearance and is
complimented with Tech Bronze accents.

The Tesla Cybertruck
offers a spacious interior that fits 6 passengers with additional storage available.
Complete with a cutting-edge 17" touchscreen with an all-new customer
interface, Tesla is delivering a very simple yet new innovation to the road. There
are still a lot of questions about standard features and interior options as most
of that has not been disclosed yet. The front dashboard looks like a marble-esque
surface with a unique square-shaped steering wheel that seems to pull design
cues from the yoke (steering wheel) inside an airplane cockpit. As with most
Tesla models, the Cybertruck stays true to the brand with a minimalistic,
simplistic interior design.
Comparing Exterior Colors & Dimensions

The exterior dimensions of the GMC Hummer EV measure in at
217" L x 87" W x 79" H, with the Tesla Cybertruck measuring at 231.7" L x 79.8"
W x 75" H. What is unique about the Tesla Cybertruck is that it will not offer
any colors in the beginning due to its stainless-steel exoskeleton. As of now,
it is unclear what the other exterior color choices will be. On the other hand,
the GMC Hummer EV will offer 9 exterior colors, including Hot Sauce Red,
Stinger Yellow, Sand Dune, Acid Green, Deep Forest Green, Reef Blue, Strato
Blue, Spec Gray, and Stellar Black.

The truck bed on the Hummer EV truck will be 5 feet long, in
comparison to the Tesla Cybertruck's 6.5 foot long truck bed. The truck beds on
both electric trucks will be quite unique. The Hummer EV utilizes the
trademarked GM Multipro Tailgate to help access, load, and unload cargo, while
the Cybertruck features a slide-out tailgate that also acts as a ramp to load
and unload cargo. As for curb weight, the GMC Hummer EV will weigh approximately
9,063 pounds. For a vehicle to weigh this much, it is even more impressive that
the acceleration times and driving ranges are so high. Unsurprisingly, the curb
weight or GVWR of the Cybertruck is still a mystery. Most reports seem to indicate
that weight of the Tesla Cybertruck will vary between 6,000 and 10,000 pounds depending
upon the configuration.
EV Range & Battery Comparison
The Tesla Cybertruck might lead the way in terms of battery
life even though the size of the batteries hasn't been disclosed. The most
powerful drivetrain on the Tri Motor Cybertruck has a low center of gravity that
provides great traction and torque, enabling acceleration from 0-60mph in 2.9
seconds and up to 500 miles of range. Driving range will vary between the other
two trims with the single motor claiming a range of 250 miles and the dual
motor setup claiming 300 miles on a single charge.
The range and battery life of the GMC Hummer EV is still
quite impressive, with over 1,000 horsepower and up to 329 miles of range for
the top-tier Hummer EV Edition 1. Most Hummer EV trucks will hit 0-60mph in
approximately 3.5 seconds, while the Edition 1 hits 60mph in about 3 seconds.
The usable capacity of the Ultium battery is right around 210 kWh, which is far
more extensive than any other pack on the market. Range anxiety shouldn't be an
issue for drivers behind the wheel of either electric truck.
Engines, Powertrain, and Performance Comparison

The Hummer EV's terrain mode offers the flexibility of using
a one-pedal system and regenerative braking so that driver doesn't have to
manage both acceleration and braking while traversing tricky routes or off-road
terrain. The Tesla
Cybertruck drops the availability of regenerative braking for upcoming
models, putting GMC ahead in this aspect. The Cybertruck does claim a powerful top
acceleration of 0-60mph within 2.9 seconds, in comparison to GMC's 3 seconds
0-60mph acceleration. While a tenth of a second may matter on the racetrack, it
is not something the average driver will notice on the streets.
Acceleration times also differ between each drivetrain for
both electric trucks. Tesla is claiming a minimum of 6.5 seconds to hit 0-60mph
in the single motor RWD truck and 4.5 seconds for the dual motor AWD truck. It
is not confirmed what the acceleration time will be for the Hummer EV trucks
that are equipped with 2 electric motors, but when equipped with 3 motors, the Hummer
EV will hit 60mph in at least 3.5 seconds.
For the Hummer EV's electric engine, it will come with 3
motors on the top two trim levels. The 3 motors in the EV Edition 1 produces
1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque, while the Hummer EV3X produces
up to 830 horsepower and 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque. The Tesla Cybertruck has an
internal permanent magnet synchronous reluctance motor. Tesla Cybertrucks will feature
either a single motor, dual motor, or tri-motor engine. Unfortunately, we don't
know what the estimated horsepower or torque ratings will be as that information
hasn't been revealed. There are even rumors of 4-motor engine for the
Cybertruck but we will see if that comes to light.
Comparing Towing Capacity & Payload Ratings: GMC Hummer EV Truck vs.
Tesla Cybertruck
The GMC Hummer EV truck has a payload capacity of 1,300
pounds and a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. The Tesla Cybertruck does claim a
large towing capacity; the dual-motor can pull 10,000 pounds while the
tri-motor can tow over 14,000 pounds. Tesla also claims that all Cybertrucks have
a payload capacity of 3,500 pounds.
Comparing Advanced Safety Features & Equipment
Thoughts have been passed around regarding the safety of the
Tesla Cybertruck with some voicing concerns that the unique materials and
design of the exoskeleton. Since it is made of stainless-steel, it may not have
adequate crumple zones. The GMC Hummer EV is recognized as very safe and
reliable due to its vast variety of safety features, including Forward
Collision Alert, Enhanced Emergency Braking, Reverse Automatic Braking, and
Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. Let's not forget about the available
Crabwalk and Extract modes that the Hummer EV offers which allows you to drive
diagonally and lift the electric truck approximately 6 more inches off the ground.
Here's Why the 2022 GMC Hummer Truck Will Beat the Tesla Cybertruck at
Every Charge

No matter how Cyberpunk the Cybertruck seems to be,
sometimes it is better to look past the futuristic exterior and focus on the details
that matter most to drivers. The GMC Hummer EV has taken every priority into
account to ensure not only the highest level of safety for its drivers on the
road, but also deliver superior performance, durability, and technology that
beats the competition. The design is unparalleled with an interior that simply
out-dos the Cybertruck at every turn. Plus, timing is also everything. Some
of the specifications, such as charge times, battery life, and electric driving range, that
matter most to EV enthusiasts are comparable between both electric
trucks. However, compared to the Tesla, the Hummer EV lineup offers far more luxurious
amenities and interior features.
With one electric truck being unavailable for another year
or two, why wait for something that could get delayed into oblivion, when you
