The towing capacity for the GMC Sierra 2500 HD is truly "heavy duty" and offers up to 18,500 lbs. of maximum towing power, while the maximum payload is rated at 3,862 lbs.
GMC Sierra HD 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel Engine
The 2022 Sierra 2500 HD offers a Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 engine with Allison 10-Speed Automatic Transmission. The powerful 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel delivers over 445 horsepower, 910 lb-ft. of torque, a 3.42 axle ratio, 36,000-pound max tow rating, and a 3,715-pound payload rating. The pairing of the Duramax 6.6L Diesel engine and the Allision 10-speed transmission allows the engine to operate in an optimal range at all times with varying load and terrain conditions.
2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Engines & Powertrain
The 2022 Ford F-250 comes with three engine options: the standard 6.2L Flex Fuel Gas V8, the 7.3L OHV PFI Gas V8, and the 6.7L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel V8. The base 6.2L V8 engine has 385 horsepower with 405 lb-ft. of torque (not easy displayed on Ford's website), while the 7.3L V8 and the 6.7L Turbo Diesel have 430 horsepower with 475 lb-ft. of torque and 475 horsepower with 1,050 lb-ft. of torque, respectively.
Super Duty 6.7L Power Stroke Turbodiesel Engine
The 6.7L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel engine offers the maximum horsepower and torque across all Super Duty engines. The maximum torque is produced at 2,600 rpm, while max horsepower is achieved at 2,600 rpm. The engine features an electric-actuated variable-geometry turbocharger that improves throttle response and efficiency.Â
