dimensions are 204 in. L x 87.9 (with mirrors) x 70.1 in. H, including an 8.4-inch
longer wheelbase, a 10.6-inch extended overall length, and a 3.2-inch taller
overall height.

The 2024 Traverse's exterior dimensions
are 204.5 in L x 87.9 in W (with mirrors) x 69.6 in H, slightly longer and
shorter than the Acadia. For this reason, it's not ideal for navigating large,
rocky terrain. However, both have the same width with and without mirrors.
Similar to the Acadia, the Traverse also offers eight
exterior colors
with trim-exclusive options:

2024 GMC Acadia Interior Design
The 2024 GMC Acadia
bumps up its upscale interior design with new features and continues valuable
standardized amenities from its 2023
models. As a redesign year, you'll find a replaced shifter button panel
with a column-mounted shifter for all models. The previous plastic passenger
container was replaced with premium-quality cabin materials.
Super Cruise® also became available for the first time in
the Elevation Premium, AT4, and Denali. A 15-inch infotainment touchscreen,
11-inch digital gauge cluster, and 12-speaker Bose audio system remain
standard.
The 2024 Acadia offers five interior
colors with trim-exclusive options:

2024 Chevy Traverse Interior Design
The 2024 Chevy Traverse is
cargo and people-friendly as part of their newest generation offered.
Its standard 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen is larger
than the 15-inch offered on the Acadia. However, the Traverse and Acadia have
the same size digital gauge cluster at 11 inches, with Super Cruise® as an
available option. Additional key highlights of the Traverse's interior include
a wireless smartphone charging pad, Wi-Fi connection, and a 10-speaker Bose
audio system.
The 2024 Traverse offers four
interior colors with trim-exclusive options:
- Jet Black
(LS and LT-exclusive)

Black/Gideon (LT-exclusive)

with Torch Red accents (Z71 and RS-exclusive)
Regarding configurations, FWD comes standard across all
trims, with AWD only standard on the Z71 trim.
2024 GMC Acadia Cargo Space & Seating Capacity
One of the most notable upgrades of the 2024 Acadia from
last year's models is its cargo space. According to GM Authority, you'll find
more cubby storage and 80% more cargo room behind the third row!
Compared to the 2023 Acadia, the 2024 models increased the
maximum cargo room to 97.5 cu. ft. and expanded their cabin. The 2024 Acadia
can accommodate up to seven passengers with three-row seating.

2024 Chevy Traverse Cargo Space & Seating Capacity
While the 2024 Traverse can seat up to eight passengers with
three rows, it's only available on the base LS trim. All other trim levels have
second-row captain's chairs with a maximum capacity of seven passengers.
However, the LS is the only trim sharing the same cargo space as the 2024
Acadia lineup, with over 97 cu. ft. and one more passenger seat.
2024 GMC Acadia Engines & MPG Ratings
Since the 2024 GMC Acadia was a redesign year, its
powertrain was included in their changes. A new turbocharged four-cylinder
engine was introduced and became the sole motor option. It replaced the two
engine options (2.0L four-cylinder and V6) from the 2023 models with a stronger powertrain.
Its 2.4L four-cylinder outputs 328hp and 326 lb.-ft. of
torque-increasing 100hp and 68 lb.-ft. of torque from the 2.0L four-cylinder
and 18hp and 55 lb.-ft. from the V6! This new engine only has an
eight-speed automatic transmission and can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 6.5 to
6.7 seconds.
The 2024 Acadia's MPG ratings depend on the trim level and
range in the following:
- 19 to 20
mpg city
- 24 to 27
mpg highway
- 21 to 23
mpg combined
2024 Chevy Traverse Engines & MPG Ratings
Like the 2024 GMC Acadia, the 2024 Chevy Traverse offers
only one engine. It has a 2.5L turbo-boosted four-cylinder engine with an
eight-speed automatic transmission and can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 6.5
seconds-the same or slightly faster than the 2024 Acadia.
However, the Traverse's powertrain performance is the same
as the Acadia, outputting 328 hp and 326 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 2024 Traverse MPG
ratings depend on the configuration and increased from the 2023 models:
- FWD: 20
city / 27 highway / 23mpg combined (previously 21 mpg combined)
- AWD: 19
city / 24 highway / 21 mpg combined (previously 20 mpg combined)
When comparing the 2024 Acadia vs. Traverse fuel efficiency,
they share the same ranges in MPG ratings, depending on the configuration and
trim level.
2024 GMC Acadia Towing Capacity & Payload Ratings
When properly equipped with the optional V92 package, the
2024 Acadia can tow up to 5,000 lbs. with a 1,846 lbs. payload capacity.
Without this upgrade, it has a 1,500 lbs. max towing capacity, with no minimum
payload rating available.
2024 Chevy Traverse Towing Capacity & Payload Ratings
The 2024 Traverse shares the same max towing capacity as the
2024 Acadia at 5,000 lbs. with the optional V92 package. Without this upgrade,
it can tow the same amount as the Acadia, up to 1,500 lbs. While there's no
minimum payload rating, the Traverse has a maximum payload of 1,850 lbs.-four
pounds more than the Acadia.

driving convenience with its available Adaptive Cruise Control-which is
standard in the Acadia.
2024 GMC Acadia or Chevy Traverse: Here's Why the Acadia is the Winner
While the 2024 Chevy Traverse is part of an all-new
generation, offering lower price options and new trims, the 2024 GMC Acadia
out-competes it for multiple reasons.
The Traverse only has the same maximum cargo capacity as the
Acadia lineup in their base-level LS trim. Should you purchase an upper-level
trim, you'll get reduced storage room and passenger space, which may not be
practical for a new SUV. The Chevy Traverse's driving experience is also less smooth on
rocky roads due to its longer and shorter exterior. Lastly, the Acadia offers a
longer list of standard safety technologies that aren't all available in the
Traverse or are only an optional feature.
Although the 2024 Traverse is a strong contender sharing
many of the same specs, the 2024 Acadia provides more overall performance
