Release & Production Dates

GMC is paving the way in the automotive industry by being the only brand to offer three all-electric trucks. The 2024 Sierra EV will be the latest addition to their electric truck models including its Hummer EV Pickup and Hummer EV SUV.

The 2024 GMC Sierra EV is the first-generation model and will come in four trim levels with varying release dates:

  • Denali Edition 1 (Early 2024)
  • Denali (Spring 2024)
  • AT4 (Late 2024)
  • Elevation (Early 2025)

The 2025 Ram 1500 REV will come in five trim levels and is expected to be released in early 2025:

  • Tradesman
  • Big Horn
  • Laramie
  • Limited
  • Tungsten

The Sierra EV's production began in late 2023 while the 1500 REV is expected to start production in the 4th quarter of 2024. It is unclear if the trim levels of the Ram 1500 REV will release all at the same time or staggered.

  • AT4: $65,000 MSRP
  • Denali: $80,000 MSRP
  • Denali Edition 1: $107,000 MSRP

Comparing Cabs & Truck Bed Configurations

While configurations aren't released, Ram announced they'll integrate third-row seating and storage areas up to 18 feet long in the 1500 REV. Since electric trucks don't have bulky gas engines under the hood, extended cab lengths and legroom are expected in this model.

The GMC Sierra EV brings four-door crew cab configurations with a 5.11-foot cargo bed and 9 feet of storage space between the cab and tailgate. Its 60/40 split second-row seats include four configurations for you to haul equipment and passengers without feeling cramped.

Interior Design & Features Comparison

2024 GMC Sierra EV Interior Comparison

GMC is focusing on making its newest electric pickup trucks more than a contractor's vehicle. They're improving designs in the 2024 Sierra EV with high-tech features.

These include a removable 16.8-inch diagnostical center touchscreen and a panoramic fixed glass roof with UV and Infrared coatings. Its interior has premium seating materials, like grain-matched open-pore wood and etched stainless steel.

2025 Ram 1500 REV Interior Comparison

The Ram 1500 REV has a smaller, permanent 14.5-inch center touchscreen. However, they offer an additional 10.25-inch front passenger touchscreen display for more entertainment.

GMC will offer five-passenger seating and Ram is expected to offer three-row seating as they previously announced.

Why The 2024 Sierra EV Continues to Out-Charge The Competition

Now that you know the differences between the 2024 GMC Sierra EV vs. 2025 Ram 1500 REV, here's why the Sierra EV should be your new electric truck option.

The Sierra EV has a higher standard EV range of 400 miles, while the 1500 REV is 350 miles unless you pay more for a larger battery pack. Additionally, its Ultium platform offers optimized battery performance that's strong enough to power your home for almost a month.

Lastly, the Sierra EV's higher horsepower and torque make up for its lower towing and payload capacity with robust powertrains and engines. Compared to other electric pickup trucks available, the Sierra can easily compete with its current ratings.

The 1500 REV is a strong contender for electric trucks. It has almost equal recharging speed rates while doubling in towing and payload capacity to the GMC Sierra EV in comparison. However, the Sierra EV is the better option because consumers can expect consistency from its original concept to the production model. Ram previously promised features like folding midgates to extend the bed to the cabin, which isn't in the final production design.

GMC is dedicated to delivering on its promises for consumer satisfaction from initial announcement to the date of release. Reserve your 2024 Sierra EV today or visit our GMC dealership in Santa Fe to get the best deals upon release!
