The 2026 GMC Sierra HD release date was June 12th, 2025, for pre-orders, and is available for purchase at your local GMC dealership now. The start of regular production (SORP) began on August 11th, 2025, at the GM Flint Assembly Plant in Michigan.

Although not a redesign, the 2026 GMC Sierra HD brings the following noteworthy changes:

The 2026 GMC Sierra HD is a heavy-duty pickup truck with a bold chrome grille, LED projector headlamps, LED taillights, and signature front bumper and fascia. Depending on the cab configurations, a two-door or four-door body is available.



The world's first six-function MultiPro Tailgate is standard on the AT4 and upper-level trims, helping improve loading/unloading with versatile configurations and cargo box access. The MultiPro Tailgate is available on all lower-level trims, with a standard manual tailgate, while the SLE and SLT get an additional EZ lift assist with power lock and release.



The cargo bed has LED lighting for all trims (Pro available) with two truck bed sizes at 6.9 ft for the Standard Bed and 8.2 ft for the Long Bed. 

A spray-on bedliner is standard for all trims (available Pro), featuring a black, texturized, non-skid surface with a watertight seal. You'll also find bed corner steps and cargo tie-downs standard across the lineup.
