Release Date & Production

The start of regular production (SORP) of the 2025 GMC Terrain was originally set for mid-2024 out of their GMC San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico. The SORP date was rescheduled for October 14th, 2025, with three trims in the lineup: Elevation, AT4, and Denali.

The 2025 GMC Terrain release date is scheduled separately by trim and configuration. The base-level Elevation AWD trim will be available in late 2024, and the FWD configuration in early 2025. The AT4 and Denali will be released as part of the 2026 model year in spring 2025.

2025 GMC Terrain Redesign Changes: What's New?

an exterior comparison of the all-new 2025 GMC Terrain and the previous 2024 GMC Terrain

The most exciting announcements of the 2025 model year are the new Terrain Elevation trim and redesign news. The 2025 Terrain Elevation trim replaces the 2024 SLE and SLT lower trims by combining them into one trim level, and the Elevation trim is now the base level for the 2025 Terrain lineup.

The 2025 GMC Terrain redesigns include:

  • Revamped interior and exterior, including larger infotainment screens, paint colors, wheel designs, and material options
  • Driver assistance feature updates, like SuperCruise semi-autonomous hands-free highway driving technology
  • More truck-like body in an SUV with rugged styling, boxier, and upright shape
  • New front fascia
  • An updated version of the GM D2XX platform

Compared to the 2024 GMC Terrain, everything in the 2025 and 2026 models is mainly new or updated except the overall size and foundation, which will remain the same.

Price & Configurations
