The 2026 GMC Terrain release date was January 30th, 2025, and is available now at your local GMC dealership. The start of regular production (SORP) was March 17th, 2025, at the GM San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico.

According to GMC, the 2026 Terrain AT4 will be the most capable version ever. An all-new driver-selectable Terrain Mode is AT4-exclusive for low-speed crawling over obstacles. It also has a 0.5" lifted ride height with an off-road-tuned suspension for responsive steering and a sportier drive.

The 2026 GMC Terrain Denali is the top-level luxury trim, with pricing starting at $41,900 MSRP. A new Glacier White Tricoat paint became exclusively available for this trim, replacing the former White Frost Tricoat. It also received upgraded dampers and standard heated rear seats.

Its key standard features include:

The 2026 GMC Terrain has one engine option: a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. FWD models are paired with a continuously variable transmission, and AWD models with an eight-speed automatic unit. The FWD models produce up to 175 hp and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. The AWD models output up to 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque.

All trims come with a standard Drive Mode Selector with Normal and Snow modes, allowing drivers to select how their SUV adapts to various road conditions. However, AWD models get an additional Off-Road mode.
